Groceries, Walmart, Publix, Dollar General

Who covers the heavens with clouds,
Who provides rain for the earth,
Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.
Psalm 147:8

Options increase each year to shop for groceries and other sundries without breaking the bank.

Florida is generously sprinkled with Dollar Generals. Some have a small grocery section for budget lovers.  Other items that might be worth purchasing at DG are beach toys.  A Dollar General recently popped up on Highway 98 not far from 30A.

Walmart on Highway 98 is a stock-up possibility for the budget IF you can stock up on groceries and not double your bill shopping for miscellaneous items in other sections of the store.  And it would be advised to make a super quick menu/grocery list before launching a Walmart shopping experience.  Smart phones and their notepads are great for such things!

Keep in mind flexibility is appreciated by family members. J  If you have a loved one who likes spontaneity, stocking up for two or three days at a time versus a whole week might be advisable.

Saturdays are CRAZY during peak season as folks are checking in and out of hotels and condos.  If grocery shopping is required on those days, we have found Walmart to be more navigable than the small Publix in close by WaterColor.  The earlier, the better.

Two Publix grocery stores not far from 30A popped up since our last visit to the beach. In addition, WaterColor has a hard working Publix in the middle of 30A.  Again, Saturday might not be the best day for extended shopping.  And Walmart is a ton cheaper if buying a cart full.

Various 30A communities have small eclectic grocery stores.  While their prices might be steep, some, like the Modica Market in Seaside, are worth a tourist stop by.
