Events Listings, Venues, Maps

Publications for 30A and beyond

A man's heart plans his way,
but the LORD determines his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

What to do…where to go…how to get there…

The plethora of places to visit, sites to see, trails to traverse, and dishes to dine on are published sporadically in various places.

Since no one publication contains everything, take a peek at free magazines and listings in coffee shops, ranger stations, grocery stores, and visitor’s centers.

Some publications have maps in the back of 30A or surrounding areas.

Nature Trails of South Walton Map

Ranger stations at the various state parks may have trail maps for other parks.
The visitor's center located at Highway 331 and Highway 98 is a great (but not exhaustive) resource for local events, trails, shopping locations, etc.  The people working at the center were happy to help filter the mountains of pamphlets according to our interests.

Google, Pinterest, Instagram are potential resources.

Reiterating that listings and websites become outdated quickly.  The Kellogg Nature Center does not exist and the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center is no longer open to the public.  Those are only two examples of our ventures that did not come to fruition.

Best of the Best Publication

Due to the seasonality of the panhandle, the restaurants and events as well as “meal deals” may only be operating during specific times of the year.

Examples are the months of operation at the Blue Mountain Creamery and the Donut Hole, and the grouper lunch special at the Modica Market.
